D.E.S.L.O.C. is far from a newbie. Rapping since 1990, the dreadlocked M.C. was actually a part of a duo called Piccalo which was signed to Miami label EKG Records in the late ‘90s. The group met when they were just teenagers while both serving time in juvenile hall. Upon their release, D.E.S.L.O.C. and his former partner Veto No Shake released two popular street anthems, “Big Money Baller” and “Picture on a T-Shirt” which received ample airplay on BET in 1997. A year later after EKG went out of business, both D.E.S.L.O.C. and his partner decided to pursue solo careers. While attempting to carve his own path, D.E.S.L.O.C. began recording his own original material and was subsequently invited to rap on Pitbull’s track “Dammit Man” from his gold-selling debut album, M.I.A.M.I. in 2004. Seeing the national focus start to turn on up and coming South Florida artists like Rick Ross and DJ Khaled, D.E.S.L.O.C. got to work perfecting his signature sound which has in turn made him the Stick King. “Stick music is feel good music that you can dance to,” he says. “Stickin’ is like an emotion and when you stickin’, you’re in your vibe and nobody can stop that.” With known producers like Cool & Dre and newcomers like Ghetto Style who produced “Stick & Roll,” Can’t Stop My Vibe is sure to break a lot of ground. Songs like “Vibe-N” “Ack-Shong” and “Throw It Up” clearly define D.E.S.L.O.C.’s fun loving character and reinforces the fact that he wants us all to have a little bit more fun with our music. “I’m not here to follow anybody else’s path,” he says. “I’m here to make my own path so they can follow me instead of me following them. People tell me, “Man I was hurtin’ the other day and I played your song all day long and I was straight.” “I want to make people elevate their minds.” Happy days are here again!DESLOC PICCALO SLIDE SHOW www.facebook.com/people/Desloc-Piccalo/637898167 twitter.com/deslocpiccalo
