In 1975 Donnie Harper, along with his group "The Voices of Tomorrow" became the first Gospel artist to appear on "Saturday Night Live (NBC Telecast). The New Jersey Mass Choir was founded by Donnie Harper in 1983 under the Gospel Music Workshops of America (GMWA) under the leadership of Rev. James Cleveland. Donnie is a revered gospel pioneer who is noted for his performance with "Foreigner" on their top 10 hit "I Want To Know What Love Is" in 1984. This was the first time that a Gospel Choir teamed up with a Rock Group in the secular market.  The group has a storied legacy that made this organization a critical link to many very well known artists whom then have backed up on recording sessions.  A great conversation about the contributions made over the years.
