he 5 Keys were a "Groups' Group." Almost every singer I've ever interviewed places the 5 Keys (along with the Moonglows and Flamingos) in the roster of groups that his group enjoyed and tried to emulate. Whether the lead was Rudy West, Maryland Pierce or Dickie Smith, they still maintained an identifiable group sound.
