LaDonna M. Cook is an Author, Writer, Poet, & Motivational Speaker. She is originally from Mississippi and now lives in GA. She discovered her love for words early & started writing poetry pre-teen. She published her first poem in a collective anthology called Whispers with The League of American Poets in 2007. In 2010 she self published her first book Expressions of the Mind, Body & Soul. She received a Certificate of Congratulation from Congressman Bennie Thompson 2nd district of MS. Also she was inducted into Who's Who in Black Mississippi in 2012.
She was born on a glorious day in September in a small town close to the Mississippi River. Being the fourth of five children, she attended grade school in Jefferson County School District, and there LaDonna became more intoned with herself and ventured off into the world of writing. LaDonna felt a need to express herself through the written word in hope that others would be blessed through her journey of inspiration. During the year of 1998, her feelings on relationships, love, spirituality, and guidance became a vision and her writings got deeper into all the emotions that were on the inside and she wanted to express them more. While in college at Alcorn State University as an undergraduate studying for a B.A. in Social Work, LaDonna never lost the passion to write poetry and change the world one poem or note at a time. She obtained a M.S. at Capella University, majoring in Counseling Studies.
LaDonna is currently working on her M.A. from South University in Professional Counseling and is happily married to a supportive husband. Their children teach them every day about the small and great things in life that we as adults tend to forget.
