Described as a self-helping motivating woman, her powerful testimony continues uplifting people all over the nation. Dr. Valerie Martin- Stewart is an author, minister and more carefully orchestrates a daily dose of lessons in her three books, Out of Pain Came Poetry, Rise Above Rejection & Miraculous Moments. The Mississippi-born vanguard, overcame people making fun of her slow speech as a child to become a severe force in sports as a professional basketball player in Peru, Australia and Italy where she received the coveted MVP Award (Most Valuable Player), and “Defensive Player of the Year”.“It was sports that made me tougher,” says Martin-Stewart. “I was so shy as a child as my friends made fun of me; sports became my outlet to shine.”And shine is just what she did wrapping up her professional athletic career and doing special work for the Australian Government; she found her way back to the United States. Here, she began work for the US  and using her Doctorate’s Degree at the Andersonville Theological Seminaryshe would become a successful Electrical Engineer. Her alma mater bestowed upon her the highest honor electing her into its Academic and Athletic Halls of Fame. Her passion to become an author and speaker led her to penning three books, but also to become a well-sought after speaker. Already, she has served as ‘Keynote Speaker’ at many important venues. Dr. Stewart is available for speaking engagements and book signings at any event in the nation. If speaking, transforming into an Electrical Engineer and a stellar career as a professional athlete weren’t enough. Her true calling may be that of an ‘ordained minister’. She was called to preach at the ripe young age of 16, but hid from that challenge for nearly 13 years.
