I've been trying to explain most of these ideas to everyone in my life since I was about 4 years old, but no one ever seemed to understand me, so I was ignored (or yelled at, or threatened, or spanked, or).  Now, with the internet speeding up human connection at such an insanely rapid pace, i'm meeting like-minded folks by the bucketfuls! I'm 30yrs old, so I grew up with computers and the internet (and was smart enough to fake passing grades without ever studying or doing homework, so that I could spend my free time learning all the skills I actually needed) Since it took me a good ten years of incessant research to properly DESCHOOL myself of the previous 19 (purging all the lies I was fed for my whole life),I’m only now able to make something that's semi-coherent (and even that is still debatable, depending on who you ask).

So after those failures, I taught for a few years to not only refresh my memory as to how awful it was (and it was), but also to see how receptive the kids were to certain ideas.  Luckily, I was a substitute, so it was quite easy to get away with a lot (although I still felt like it was an undercover mission most of the time, as though they'd find out that I was actually trying to address the kids' mental/emotional needs instead of worrying about following the sacred lesson plan!). They asked "Are you high or something?"  because they noticed that I was having too much fun, and they were apparently not used to teachers enjoying their jobs (sooooo sad)).
