This is a show we have all been looking forward to here at ICAA Radio! We are going to be talking about why ICAA's project, Mind the Gap is so important, most specifically for education and special education. Ms. Harwood came to ICAA and told us of the great work Ms. Pence was doing with her child and all of her students. Harwood nominated Pence for ICAA's spring 2010 recognition. Ms. pence was recognized at the end of the school year and presented the ICAA certificate. Ms. pence and Ms.Harwood are going to share important aspects of special education in their area and discuss ways we can improve and what we need to hang on to in education. Student on the Autism spectrum often fall behind or get lost in the shuffle due to the lack of real understanding and supports for their individual needs and learning styles, and we hope Mind the Gap will improve this for students around the world.
