How you can get involved! First visit the website http://www.dreamhouseforkids.orgLearn how you can get involved and all the educational opportunties here in Georgia. Plans will be to expand the training opportunities around the United States as we grow.Points of interest:
1- Advancements in medical technology are saving the lives of children who could not have survived 5 or 10 years ago.
2- These children are now dependent on this technology to survive which makes their care more complicated.
3- Many families cannot support this level of care, and these children end up being abused, abandoned, placed in foster care, senior adult nursing homes, or end up living in hospitals for years.
4- For all they have suffered and endured, these children have no family, no home, no future, and no hope.
5- Georgia now has more than:
a. 120 children living in senior adult nursing homes,
b. 2,000 special health care needs children in foster care who need a home, and
c. another 6,000 families with medically fragile children throughout the state who desperately need our help!
5- Dream House is unlike any other program in the US and provides the education, skills training, home modifications, equipment and health care supplies that enable families and empower communities to care for their medically fragile children at home.
6- Dream House receives no state or federal funding and relies solely on private donations to help these children and families.
7- Theses children are in great need of support. Please help! We need funding, corporate sponsors, foster parents, adoptive parents, and families who are willing to be trained to provide respite care (for a day or weekend).
Just doing something as simple as donating a dollar toward your local electric bill fund can make the difference in someones life.Contact Kim Marks and find out how you can get more information.http://www.dreamhouseforkids.orgListen and view the ABC Person of the week here: http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=2774657Help by making a donation to the wish list:http://www.dreamhouseforkids.org/wish_list.htmCash Donations:http://www.dreamhouseforkids.org/donations.htmUpcoming Events:http://www.dreamhouseforkids.org/upcomingevents.htm
