  I just had the most interesting interview with Bill Tancer about his new book Click. At the beginning of the show you can hear a bit of extra noise are we are getting set-up but other wise it is a great show. Bill talks about the many uses of the data Hitwirs (the company he works for) collects. Clients from the Library of Congress to online merchants use the data analysis to make decisions that effect their business and indirectly all of us.
  
  Although Bill's studies can't perdict the outcome of the Presidential race or what will happen to the economy, he can provide valuable insight into what people are looking at online related to these topics. Check out his column on Time.com "The Science of Search" to discover other uses and discoveries the huge data bank provides.
  
  I keep telling you the data bank is huge - this is how huge - over 10 million internet users in the US and 25 million worldwide scanned daily for usage. The information is cleaned of all indivual markers and aggregated into catigories to use to answer almost any question you can think of. Hitwise has about 1600 clients and a special acidemic program for researchers, who can access the data bank.
