For the past few years, this radio host has received emails about Allan Harris.  Where he has been, what he has been doing, what music will thrill us the next time we hear him.  Well, prepare to be THRILLED :)  His new album is called "Nobody's Gonna Love You Better/Black Box Jukebox Redux" - and you WILL find a favorite song in the mix!  This new set of songs - and some of them ARE new - but some are seasoned beloveds - is a follow-up to the highly acclaimed "Black Bar Jukebox" from last year.  To say that this fabulous vocalist, guitarist and composer pulled out the stops here is an understatement.

Allan - whose roots are in Brooklyn and Harlem - returned to the memory of those childhood days.  His "young memories of music, people and events" are here.  In tunes that may surprise you!  Not only are there four originals - but also songs written by Walter Becker/Donald Fagen, James Moody and Jimi Hendrix :-O  Produced by Grammy Award-winning Brian Bacchus, these authentically voiced treasures will heat your holiday temperature - read that any which way you desire ;)

Allan is an interesting and thoughtful artist.  He has been recognized for his work from various sources (Downbeat, New York Nightlife, Backstage Bistro, Jazz Museum of Harlem) - and has been singled out - beyond awards - for his contribution to honest American history.  Go back to "Cross That River" in 2006 - when NPR's "All Things Considered" carried the story of that project.  About the role of African-Americans in the 19th Century.  Allan has used the knowledge gleaned here for teaching students.  He's no stranger to charity, either.  He just visited St. Mary's Hospital for Children.  Good deeds are rewarded.  His album was named One of the Best this year in the U.K!

See you at ONE p.m. on 12/13 - with Allan!
