What's fascinating about Dean Mongerio is what yours truly DOESN'T know about him - he is a Man of Mystery to a large extent.  And that will make this interview that much better :)  What you definitely need to know is that this awesome talent has taken music to a different level.  And so many have taken notice that Facebook pages have been burning up with messages.Hey, even phone calls - remember them?!

Born in New York, Dean was raised in Florida.  We'll find out what came first: the alto sax that he played at 12 or the compilation tape that his Mom gave him.  Full of Cannonball, Bird, and Dolphy.  It was Charlie Parker that grabbed his attention.  And he hasn't stopped studying since that inspiration.

Our guest has worked in multiple genres with incredible artists.  In Jazz, both sides of the aisle - and y'all know what we mean by that ;)  Dean has had some sizable victories in his career - producing and arranging for Manny Lester's debut Gospel album is one of those.  In his path with The Groovemasters, there was an original song on that EP that garnered significant attention.  "Brown Rice" was chosen as Top Jazz Song in 2010 - by Indie-Music.com.

In 2011, he moved to London and found that work came easily - in notable venues.  People were SURE paying attention to this handsome gentleman who had a way with effects pedals.  In 2013, Dean joined the European tour of "New Jersey Nights" - with impressive featured solos.  He has had a very busy time with this show - but he found the window to finish a significant debut.  "Inter/Change."  The music within JUMPS off the page - this is saxophone as you have not felt it before now.  This is an artist with reverence for the past, but has a firm eye on music's future.  Oh MY, what a pleasure to bring Dean Mongerio to you :)  9/17/15.
