A recent friendship has produced some communication via email.  One of those letters asked me, "Are you aware of Philip Lassiter?"  The response was that I was familiar with Phil, but needed someone to fill me in on what was currently happening with him.  As it turns out, a LOT!  This award-winning trumpeter, arranger, composer and producer has released an album called "DreamZzz" (it dropped 6/10) - and is getting overwhelmed with response from its intense electrical charge. Young Big Band on overdrive, Baby!  It's exciting!

Background on this amazing multiple talent - and you KNOW that it's gonna be interesting because it's a Preacher's Kid we're talking here :)  Based in Washingtong, D.C. now, Philip grew as an artist and MORE in Dallas and Nashville. Between those two cities, he freely admits that word-of-mouth references made the difference in working!  This is a consummate professional who has worked with MULTI-Platinum artists - most notably, Prince, whose name is clearly visible on Phil's Facebook page.  Because Prince still employs him!  But check this out: so has Fantasia, Jill Scott, Al Jarreau, Roberta Flack, Frankie Beverly and more.  Our guest did the production and arranging for SEVEN Grammy-winning projects involving Fred Hammond and Kirk Franklin.  He's the bandleader behind the funk (PHUNK?!) group, Philthy.  And THAT embodies all that Philip has learned in his two decades of genre jumping success: Gospel, Soul, R & B, Salsa, Jazz AND Funk.

On "DreamZzz", the creativity and fresh takes on NEW fusion make you stop in your tracks.  You haven't heard ANYTHING like this!  This is what got my friend buzzed enough to write me.  This is why Philip Lassiter keeps getting referrals.  You'll be doing that yourself after you hear him!
