Here was the introduction to Butch and Rhonda Coleman a few years ago...we had an awesome venue in our area that featured the best food and entertainment.  It was called, "Bliss" - and it WAS.  For a while, it was our oasis in the Baltimore area.  And artists grew to love it as their second home. Two of those artists were my guests on the next "Hybrid Jazz."

Whenever Butch and Rhonda played at "Bliss", the house was PACKED! Butch on bass - and Rhonda on keyboards and vocals. And OH those vocals!  We hadn't heard the like.  Here's why: she allowed herself to be vulnerable.  She let the pain out - or the joy.  She took us on a ride that we never forgot.  Telling a story while on stage, you felt as though you could be exhausted from hearing so much honesty.  But, with that also came a certain energy - Rhonda had you ready for the next round of life!

There is SO much to say about the Colemans.  From Baltimore, they have dedicated themselves to music for over twenty years in our region - but are known way beyond here.  Not only because of their thrilling artistry, but because of their two sons.  Jeremy and Joshua are respected L.A. based music producers.  And Grammy nominees.

Butch and Rhonda played on "Break Free" recorded by the winners of "The Sing Off", the group called Committed.  Butch played bass on the singles by Jessie J, "Price Tag" and "Abracadabra."  Rhonda has opened for Al Jarreau, The Blackbyrds and the late Phyllis Hyman.

They're intensely spiritual people who believe in giving back and they have through "Heart for Music" - that serves inner city children.

"Night Sketches" is their new CD and it SMOKES!  We've waited and it's finally here.  Meet our extraordinary friends on 3/4!
