We needed to do something VERY special to celebrate three gifted ladies - friends - who plan to sing together - for the FIRST time.  So, we thought...why not a "Hybrid Jazz Goddess Party?"  After all, Venus is the Goddess of Love - and our guests are going to be performing on Valentine's Day!  It makes perfect sense - and these three artists are perfect TOGETHER :)

Anita King, like Geneva Renee and Mycah Chevalier, is based in the greater Washington D.C. area. Visible on PBS ("An Evening with Quincy Jones", backing Bobby McFerrin, Herbie Hancock and BeBe Winans); even MORE visible with Bruce Springsteen on Barack Obama's First Inauguration Day - and has shared the stage with James Ingram, Lyle Lovett, and the late Isaac Hayes. More than equal to this, Anita has given her time and talent to make us aware of The MusicianShip - a charity dear to her.  We'll talk about that!

Geneva Renee is a California Girl, who made her way East to attend Howard University.  With her multiple degrees and her soaring soprano, it didn't take her long to find an audience: she has performed for Presidents, international Jazz and Gospel stars, and in pivotal vocal competitions - one of which earned her a VIP audition for "The Voice."  Her "Beautiful Wonder" CD has garnered much attention - and we'll hear a track or two from it.

Mycah Chevalier is no stranger to the show.  With the many victories that she has shared - including a Grammy nod for her work with Brian Christopher on "In the Groove" - her featured performance in the play, "All The Man I Need" - and the success of the song, "Anticipation" (hear regularly on WHUR in D.C.) - there has been reason for regular visits! There's always something going on with our Creole Girl - but this shared experience on 2/14 will be amazing - join us for good news!
