We expect to have a very different and exciting show for you on 1/21.  The focus will be on a live musical event that will take place on January 23rd, 2014.  Tom Reyes and Friends will play - and their special guest will be Leo Cagape.  Tom and Leo claim roots in the Philippines, where so much destruction took place a few months ago.  Thursday night's benefit show will be ALL about storm recovery there - as facilitated by Catholic Relief Services.  And "Hybrid Jazz" - next time around - will give you the entire scoop regarding the benefit.

You'll also hear reason to celebrate as well as contribute.  So much wonderful music has emerged from Filipino artists!  Two notable examples: our friend, singer Charmaine Clamor - and guitarist Johnny Alegre.  You'll hear songs from them - as well as inspirational tunes that bring home the message of service, whether it's local or international.

Tom Reyes has an incredible reputation in his hometown of Baltimore.  A solid Rock background, he grew to appreciate and fine tune his piano to play Jazz.  You can hear him as a solo keyboardist in our region - or with his band - they'll be with him at An die Musik on Thursday for this special show.  As well as eager musicians in the area, anxious to help promote and play for this worthy endeavor.

Leo Cagape is one such performer.  A pianist himself, Leo also sings - and takes enormous pride in his heritage.  At the end of these two live shows on Thursday night, folks in attendance might feel as though they are "honorary" citizens of The Phillipines - that would be awesome!  We'll certainly learn a lot more about how we can help - and here's your directive to find out what you may be able to do where YOU live!  www.crs.org

Blessings to those who help - and greetings to those who listen to "Hybrid Jazz" on 1/21
