It has been QUITE a while since speaking with Nils.  The last time was on "Cool Jazz Conversations" - when yours truly was co-hosting.  That goes back a few years!

A few music projects later - and creativity in full bloom - this amazing guitarist/producer/author/teacher is back with a FAN.  Hah!  And we'll talk about the next step in The Incredible Journey of Nils Jiptner.

Munich born but now based in the Los Angeles area, Nils has split his time assisting others to reach their musical potential - and turning out his own work to reflect what drives his passion.  Apparently, that passion is catchy: his "Pacific Coast Highway" from 2005 caught the attention of thousands of listeners.  One of the songs in contemporary Jazz history that has garnered the MOST listens!  "What The Funk" stirred huge interest, too, as a follow-up.  What we'll hear during this interview, though, are tracks from "City Groove" - released late last year.  Intriguing music here...Nils is full of surprises.  Both extroverted with dance and beats - and introverted with subject matter ("Soul 2 Soul" and "The Alchemist"), he is categorized as Smooth Jazz - but you and I both know that this R &B/Electronica/Pop-infused rebel is way beyond that box.

Hence, the reason for get-together!  Let's get the lowdown on what's cooking for this Groove Meister.  2014 is almost here and Nils loves new beginnings.  He also loves continuing what was started - and his exceptional career is the fabulous stereotype of "Keeping a good thing ROLLING!" You ask George Clinton and The Temptations how Nils helped THEM :)  And there are so many more who'd like to have our guest in their camp - he's known for dusting off jewels and making them shine.  One listen to his OWN music and you know!
