This is a happy reunion with our friend, Reginald - it was a pleasure to have him as a guest when his first project launched over a year ago.  That work, "Freedom's Children: A Celebration", created a buzz in the mid-Atlantic and beyond.

How beyond?  Would you believe all the way to Charlotte Amalie - in the Virgin Islands?  Of course you would - that's where Reginald has his roots.  And those roots are heard and felt in both his debut and his brand new "Love."

Drawing from Calypso, Reggae, Afrobeat, the depth of spoken word intermingled with Jazz and Classical, "Love" combines the true passions of this amazing trombonist.  And those are the concepts of peace and social justice. This is an artist who takes those life forces more seriously than most - it's in every note of his new CD.

So much to celebrate!  This is a musician, bandleader, composer, educator and activist who is truly coming into his "Summer Solstice."  The inspirations of Bob Marley, Fela Kuti and Curtis Fuller dancing in his head, Reginald has forged a new dynamic in his interpretation of Jazz.  And he's seeing the fruit of that authenticity.  A big date is on the horizon - a CD Release Party in the shadow of his adopted hometown in Washington, D.C.  We'll discuss that, the fabulous artists with whom he has played, and the vision that he has for the future: musically and otherwise.

On 6/27/2013 - as usual, the fun starts at one - Reginald Cyntje joins me at two.  The Chat Room is getting crowded these days - better get there early!
