There's always something special that results when an artist has been raised on Gospel. If that little one grows up to become a musical artist, the soul stays no matter what the chosen genre. Such is the case with our next guest, Ronny Smith. Taught by ear, this guitarist and composer was inspired by Church first - then the magic that he heard from Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass and George Benson.
The pattern of his life is impressive - Ronny was playing in high school, then auditioned for the Army Band - where he was readily embraced. He was able to attend college and continued to play - all the while, earning his Masters Degree in Organizational Management! The depth of his skills on guitar, though, has been his main focus since 2001 - the year of his debut. Multiple CDS since, we're celebrating the new "baby" - Ronny's latest project: "Can't Stop Now." Which YOU will feel in regard to smiling when you hear it :-D
This Baltimore native has been able to transfer passion and exhilaration into music - and we'll hear three tracks to back up that observation! We'll also hear about his journey as an educator as well as a soldier musician for over three decades.
It will feel like home on Thursday, June 6th. The music starts at one - Ronny joins me at two Eastern USA time.
