Guitarist/Composer Nate Najar is on a roll - we're catching him right on time! He has some key dates to keep in some beautiful places...and he'll be performing awesome music when he KEEPS those dates.
"Blues for Night People: The Nate Najar Trio Remembers Charlie Byrd" is getting TRUE buzz. How could it not? For those of us who remember and revere The Master, a passionate tribute to him is warmly received. And Nate makes no bones about the fact that Charlie was his inspiration. The CD is full of songs either composed by or associated with our beloved Byrd. Ballads, Bossa, Swing and Classical/Jazz Hybrids - it all makes for a sweet package. Especially since Nate has friends Tommy Cecil on bass and Chuck Redd (a former guest on our show) on drums and vibes. This delicious 'Charlie Byrd Stew As Interpreted by Nate Najar' will be shared on the road - and one of those events lands Nate in our region! At The Mainstay in Maryland.
Find out if he is coming close to YOUR neighborhood - and learn about the handsome young man with nylon strings under nimble fingers - who casts a spell with that guitar. And not just any - the same one that Charlie Byrd played! A 1974 Ramirez, favored by the immortal Andres Segovia.
Nate Najar has been playing for some time...and ears have taken note. This Florida native has a lot to share about his past - and much to anticipate in his future. Join us on March 5th for "First Tuesday" on the show - and for Nate's visit during the second hour. As usual, the fun starts at ONE - and since it's the first Tuesday of the month - we'll take your calls in regard to where you're playing and when your new project is dropping. See the phone number at the top of this (we love industry lingo!) "Teaser." :-D
