We took a break on Tuesday to honor those who were/are victims of 9/11/01 - but we're back on 9/13 with songs of hope and thoughtfulness. AND we have a special guest: silky, soulful saxophonist Dee Lucas!
Since his debut in 2004 with his tribute to George Howard ("Remembrance"), Dee has been gaining fans and wowing critics. In 2007, the word spread even more with his "Something to Ride 2." Two years ago, "Standing Room Only" got attention and made people realize that Dee was hear to stay.
But others knew years ago! Check out this array of performers that Dee has worked with and/or opened for: Roy Ayers, Michael Franks, The Gap Band, Lalah Hathaway, Hugh Masekala, Tower of Power, Nancy Wilson, The Yellowjackets and more!
Our guest has been honored to be included in the highly visible birthday celebrations of Ray Charles and Gladys Knight - and has been invited to participate in the "100 Black Men" Convention - a prestigious gathering to celebrate greatness.
With Dee's latest project, "Rebirth of the Smooth," HIS greatness is revealed. And we're proud to give him the spotlight. Not only because of his work, but also because he has agreed to help our friend, Yolanda Bell. A very special domestic violence awareness benefit is happening in our Baltimore area, and Dee is flying from Atlanta to be a part of it! His heart is as big as his talent - and I'm proud to focus on fantastic :)
Join us for a special music show - with an extra special guest: Dee Lucas!
