Tuesday's show (the 24th!) will be special because of a few reasons...we might have the incredible - and legendary - pianist, Freddie Redd, stop by at one p.m. We'll see!
Chris McNulty is my primary guest and she joins me at two. Not only for the usual interview, but she has agreed to stay and co-host for the following hour! Chris will talk about her new release, "The Song That Sings You Home" - which is due to drop next month - on the Dutch label, Challenge.
We'll hear about the fascinating Jazz journey that Chris has had since she arrived in New York from her native Australia in 1988 - and the overwhelming popularity that she has experienced in her homeland, as well as the critical acclaim that she has enjoyed in the States. AND we'll also hear about her magnificent son.
Sam McNulty - also known as Chap One - was one of those rare talents that blessed ears don't hear enough. He wrote with passion and conviction, a sense of hope in the midst of chaos - and he was a 'hybrid' in the true sense: juggling plates in the air of Hip Hop, Soul and Jazz and making them balance just so - like a ballet!
Chap One is not here in body, but his spirit and music live on - Mom sees to the latter, and we who loved his message see to the former!
Jazz and more - an honest mix of music that will seem organic, interspersed with healing - you'll hear it. The return of Chris McNulty and that beautiful voice! Join us - and get acquainted with greatness.
