Let's take a journey back in time, when a Philly girl was diggin' the funky fusion of Jazz, Rock and Soul - delivered by Tower of Power.  The City of Brotherly Love was all over it.  And we were music savvy enough to know that the horn section was what made TOP special.

Through the years, the musical visionary responsible for that sound created more magic.  A quarter of a century with the group that turned us onto the concept of "hybrid" (thank you :) - and four decades all told of full-out wizardry.  Ask those who have performed, recorded or collaborated with Greg Adams.  Go ahead - ask B.B. King, The Rolling Stones, Heart or Chicago.  Or Paul Shaffer - he'll tell you about the opening theme for "Late Night with David Letterman."  Do the research involved with Luther Vandross, Ray Charles and Wilson Pickett.  Greg Adams has had an association with Pop, Rock, and Soul royalty.  But that's a no brainer.  Because HE is, too.  With an added benefit.  Jazz has him now!

It's a dizzying schedule for Greg these days - what with the tremendous buzz of "East Bay Soul 2.0" - and the musical mentorship that he takes seriously.  Music Education is a priorty for Greg.  But he's taking the time to share his journey with us this Thursday.  So you'll hear what a Grammy and Emmy nominated producer, arranger, songwriter and bandleader has to say about everything from film scoring to funk memories.  Soup to nuts.  Smooth Jazz success to rough and rocky roads.  It will be as if his trumpet is speaking.

And we'll be listening.  Especially those of us who remember how Tower got their Power.  Woo!
