Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Roy Crosse!

Award-winning Roy Crosse was born in Port of Spain, Trinidad, but has lived in many places.  As a result, we are blessed in Baltimore to witness his rich tapestry of multi-artistry whenever we want!

Roy plays steel drums - and did so via a large steel orchestra in his native country, before moving to Toronto for educational purposes.  There, a mentor encouraged him to study art - one of the best pieces of advice ever given.

In Canada - and then onto the States in the 80's - Roy found his niche, in creating art of all kinds.  Paintings, print, sculpture, unique floor projects from wood and rocks, set designs for theatrical productions...and then, there was his playing.

Official capacities at the Toronto School of Art and the Jamaica School of Art only fueled Roy's desire to create even more - one can see his work displayed from Boston to Tobago.

And one can HEAR him play - if one is fortunate - at An Die Muzik on February 10th, here in Baltimore.  This man is respected in the community as both a powerful nod to the past (and we respect that here) and a visionary.  Listen to him speak wisdom on "Hybrid Jazz" - it will be the best way to spend an hour that you can imagine!  Oh!  Make that 3 hours - it's Februray and the show has expanded...from 1 until 3, music to soothe and stir your soul.  From 3 to 4 p.m. - it's Roy Crosse - his music and his journey!
