Attorney Rick Levin of Chicago-based Levin, Riback Law Group says the significance of the dangers covered-up by the NFL are starting to come to light. “Concussions in sports are a big problem when the proper medical protocol is not followed after a serious head hit. If left on the field, a second concussion can be much more damaging and even lead to death,” says Levin. “A main issue is that many football players were not aware of the dangers related to a second hit while they were playing.”
Mr. Levin has tried more than 35 cases through to jury verdicts and settlements and has arbitrated and mediated more than 100 cases to successful judgments and settlements. He is an adjunct professor of law at Northwestern University where he began teaching in 1998. He teaches law students trial advocacy and in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005, he was selected by the student body as the school’s “Most Outstanding Adjunct Professor.”
