Sex before marriage is a hot and controversial topic.

Most people are under the impression that it is the religious and orthodox groups that oppose sex before marriage, while everyone else endorses it. But you will be surprised to know that the highest office of the United States government in fact encourages abstinence from sex before marriage.

However, we must look at not only the moral/immoral issues of premarital sex, but the issues of contracting sexually transmitted diseases through unprotected sex.

According the the CDC,  50% of all new infections occur in young people between the ages of 15 and 24 years. If you think about it, that is exactly the age group that is involved in sex before marriage. Almost half of those young people end up getting infected with AIDS or other sexually transmitted diseases.

This show deals with the moralistic values of premarital sex versus abstinence.
