Those are the stakes in 2012.  Which makes Tea Partiers uniting behind a not-Romney alternative THAT CAN WIN absolutely imperative.  The questions are, is Newt Gingrich - the latest "flavor of the month" - that candidate?  And will TPers stop their fratricial reflexive purity civil war long enough to find out?
