Does it even matter that college students don't know their instructors' names? And vice versa? Teaching may be a relationship, but at the college level, how much does the instructor-student relationship really matter?

In this first episode of "Hello Professor/Goodbye Professor," we will explore the connection between learning and the instructor-student relationship in higher education. These are the days of scarce resources resulting overcrowded classrooms and ever-increasing average class size and of courses (hybrid, online, or MOOCs) in which instructor and students may never meet directly.

Is learning even affected when instructors and students have only a passing relationship? Does the course subject make a difference? Maybe some students need a stronger relationship with their instructors than other students, such as older, more mature students.

Join us our first episode. Tell us about your relationships with your teachers or your students and how those relationships helped or hindered your learning. Share your insights into education and learning.
