On the heels of arguably the best show since the HBS' inception, can Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti and George "the Howitzer" Gerbo stay at the top? The platform this week certainly calls for more of the norm - pure radio gold. With the MLB trade deadline now having passed, who were the winners and losers? How did the extra Wild Card spot and more contending teams impact baseball's annual roster shakeup? Will the waiver wire allow any other major moves to take place before playoff depth charts are set? The Phillies have placed Cliff Lee on waivers but require teams to shell out all of the remaining $97 million straight cash homie left on his contract. Will a contending team shell out the loot and earn themselves the right to lose in the World Series?

Michael Phelps now owns 20 Olympic medals during his illustrious career (16 Gold). Is he the greatest Olympian of all-time? In other much more asinine Olympic news, the USA basketball team is dominating on the hardwood. No, that's not the news. What is? Apparently squad leaders Kobe Bryant and LeBron James feel their 2012 incarnation could defeat the legendary 1992 "Dream Team." I repeat Kobe and LBJ think they can beat Magic, Michael and company. The Buzz-saw's response: HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Finally, get those football juices flowing, as "The Boys of Fall" are gearing up for another NFL season. Unfortunately, some major networks don't care. Their only interest seems to be a backup quarterback/ special teams player. Sound asinine? Oh it surely is. Mike will even force George to revisit a Hall of Fame debate he knows will spark a fire storm. The Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show is Gold Medal quality, as it conquers sports radio, one day, at a time....
