Flarida is one of the hottest, most recognizable competitors in professional reining. This week, he will lead the U.S. team at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at Lexington's Kentucky Horse Park. Flarida posted the highest score of the four men who qualified in July at the Adequan U.S. Equestrian Federation Open Reining Championship in Oklahoma City. His achievements have had profound impact on not only reiners but the entire equestrian world. Participating in the first ever reining event in WEG history in 2002 in Spain Shawn took team and individual gold. His prize winnings are inching ever closer to 4 million with thanks to his entire family. This humble champion proved in this interview to be brilliantly funny and full of wisdom. My prediction is that the heart of gold will win the medal of gold and thrill the sold out crowd at WEG.
