Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Victims Share Poetry

Monday nights on Voices of Hope on Blog Talk Radio have long been open mike night. Beginning tonight, Sept. 28, 2009 at 8PM our show will be taking on an exciting new twist.

Survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault are being encouraged to share their poetry live and on the air. We hope that their words will be an encouragement to others.

There are two ways that survivors of domestic violence or sexual assault can participate. One is to call into 718.506.1545 during the show, follow the prompts on the phone system and read your poetry live on the air.

The second option is to email your poem to voicesofhope@hopeforhealing.org. State that you created the work and have the license to be able to share it. Then state in the email that you give us permission to read the poem live on the air and to distribute it as part of the free podcast of the segment of Voices of Hope where the poem was read.

Callers will be asked if the work they created is their own. If so, it is then understood that permission to distribute as part of the show segment is granted.

The owners will not be compensated for the use of their poems. However, they may share the show link with others, download the podcast and/or post it to social networking sites.

If you want to call in or contact us with questions for the show, don't worry. We still welcome questions and live calls.

We hope this program will become even more helpful to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence. One survivor has already emailed us a powerful poem to use for tonight's show.

Don't forget to tune in. See you at http://www.blogtalkradio.com/hopeforhealing at 8PM (Eastern) on Voices of Hope.
