Interview #26 Tami Boehmer

Speaker and author of Finding Hope for Your Journey through Breast Cancer, Yvonne Ortega will interview Tami Boehmer. After years of working in public relations at hospitals and other healthcare organizations, Tami Boehmer was suddenly thrust into life as a patient. In February 2008, she was diagnosed with a metastatic breast cancer recurrence—months after celebrating her five-year cancer-free anniversary. Tami was unwilling to accept her grim prognosis and decided to focus on hope rather than statistics. So she began her healing journey of interviewing 27 survivors nationwide who survived and thrived years beyond what doctors predicted. Listen to the show to find out what the result was. Tami lives in Cincinnati with her husband, Mike, and 11 year-old daughter, Chrissy. Tami spends her time speaking to organizations and blogging at www.MiracleSurvivors.com which has attracted more than 6,000 visitors worldwide since it ws created in 2009. Tami gives back as a board member for Pink Ribbon Girls, a support group for young breast cancer survivors; as a mentor for other cancer survivors with Imerman Angels; and by raising money for various cancer organizations.
