The Dutch song Auld Lang Sine is sung each New Year and holds the meaning of "Old Long Ago" the words that start the song for many seem unkind "Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?" We become sad when one begins to lose their memory to disease, and we should. Just as there is saddness to losing your memory for victims of sexual abuse, there is a constant sadness when your memory is filled with the pain of "Old Long Ago". I wish I could forget it, and so do many, many others for varied reasons that will be the topic of this weeks VOV.
I would love to hear from anyone listening, if but a note that you are listening. Also, please invite others who are not aware that the show is on and can be listened to at anytime but airs live each Thursday at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.
