Sexual abuse seems to be garnering more public attention in 2011 than I have noticed in my 41 years.  I am a victim albeit not sure if a survivor or not.

I continue to suffer the effects of 15 years of abuse and would like to know why so often the victim is placed in the position of the enemy.

I have just begun to talk freely and openly about the lifelong abuses that marred my youth, adolescents and teen years and to be honest I am often victimized again because I speak the words and no longer wear the masks.

I am asked questions like:

Why didn't you say something at the time?

Why don't you just forget about it and move on with your life?

It's been more than 30 years why do you want to drag others through the mud now?

Are you trying to get some fame by bringing it up after all of these years?

What about the family, do you not care how this will impact everyone?

When did the victim have to justify why she/he was vulnerable at 4 years old, 5, 10, 12, 15, 19, or 25, or 100?

I CANNOT HOLD IT IN ANY LONGER: I AM DYING INSIDE WHILE THE PERPETRATORS LIVE.

I am not alone in this!

What do you think; talk to HoneyBeeGood?
