More middle-class New Yorkers are being evicted as they are increasingly unable to pay their rent. In the first two months of 2009, the number of housing court cases for nonpayment of rent rose 20 from the same period in 2008. Paul Kushner, the Legal Director at Eviction Intervention Services, has spent seven years representing tenants in New York City Housing Court. He helps tenants remain in their homes, and can provide advice on how you can stay in yours.
