It is building your contact list of Friends, and contacts and finding ways to work with others to spread everyone business like a Net wide and far. Networking is about benefiting other as much as it is benefiting yourself, offering your contact more by joining together with other. My contacts benefit from Networking and My Friends contacts benefit from Networking because everyone reaches farther by working together. Advertising is vertical Marketing it is solely dependent but someone seeing your ad and finding it compelling enough to click on your link, and visit your site. And then you site being compelling enough to convert that visitor into a buying customer. If you spending more then an hour a day posting free ads you spending to much time. Advertising is a passive limited resource. Change the way you do you business building for one week. Network with other, and make an effort to really connect and share and see where that takes you.

I am often amazed at how many wah mom start a business then seem to treat it as a hobby they can pick up and put down whenever the mood strikes them. Of course then they wonder why they are not making money. Now this is not the same as those that need to work, and still find time to build a business. Been there Done that. But those that put for the extreme efforts will find the success. And jumping from business to business is not the answer.
