Holworks

Holworks - Welcome to the site of Mark Holman, a Fayetteville, NC native, ASCAP artist and Publisher. I create music. It is an honor to have you listen to my songs. I began this journey in October 2007 to complete in song a poor person's almanac entitled Carolina Commons. That album is ready to record. My second album, Splash, is underway in earnest. I am completing a catalog of songs that you may view by clicking on the ASCAP link just under this statement. Music is in me, . . . ASCAP Title Codes for Holworks Songs Clear Channel Radio playing Holworks Songs I went into the studio to record five songs with help from some of my talented musical friends. Just When I Thought, Swift Water, Blue Opal, These Eyes for You, and Raise Your Arms. Since then, I have completed many more in the confines of my living room at a fraction of the quality or cost without my talented friends. Nonetheless, I am undaunted with it all. Music is in me. I create music! Do you want music unspoiled by commercial fingerings? I can give you mood. I can give you an intellectual challenge. I can give you melodies that fix on neurons. I can propel you through the next few minutes through song! The Carolina Commons saga continues as I complete the requirements one by one. It is a slow journey but will be one worth the wait. Mark Holman Plays Live in Fayetteville, NC

Holworks Music - Fayetteville, NC - Mark Holman here the Rogue Poet ePod with a fistful of Carolina Commons songs that will infect you with melody. I have a crayon keyboard and a colored pencil microphone. Simply put, I color air.

Ok, so I am not in a band. My keyboard does it all. A band may come in time as I go out into the community and expose my soul. I do not like to play cover tunes as I have quite a few songs I have written and am in the process of writing. Two important dates for me this week as I continue to spark demand in the Fayetteville, NC area.

It is very difficult to start a project involving music. There are so many different factors involved with it not to mention so many different personalities. You have on one end of the spectrum all those folks who are jealous and hateful. These folks would not be happy with anything or anyone unless they were famous and made them drool. That's ok, I need genuine feedback as a step to Market Research. I chalk these folks up to the wrong demographic.

Next, I see these folks that are just out because they want to socialize with their friends at a comfortable place. These folks are receptive to new sounds as long as the songs are good. These folks constitute roughly 70% of the patrons at any given moment. I love them as I can usually convert them to the unusual sounds of my songs.

Finally, there are the well wishers who usually are friends who show up to offer support. These folks learn the words to my songs and sing along as I am playing. I hope to have more of these folks in the future as it is just so wonderful to hear people actually singing the words I wrote to a song I composed. It is so improbable for me to have one song let alone almost two albums complete.

-I am playing at the Rock Shop tonight September 22, 2008.
-I am playing at Jester's Pub Thursday September 25, 2008.
-I am playing the Coffee Scene September 29, 2008.
-I am playing at Paddy's Irish Pub October 1, 2008

Please come out and see why I am causing all this talk. I think you will understand from the first note that I am completely different and will get inside your head with melody.
