The Islanders' played their third must win game of the week this afternoon in Philadelphia and did what had to be done. The result was a 4-2 win against the Flyers, who are in last place in the NHL for the first time in Franchise history. Miroslav Satan opened up the scoring early in the game. Goals by Yashin and Park in the second period gave the Isles a big 3-0 lead. The Flyers were able to score a goal in the second to make it 3-1. The score stayed this way until the Flyers pulled their goalie with three minutes left and scored with the extra attacker. The Flyers again pulled their goalie, but Tom Poti put in an empty net goal to seal the deal for the Islanders. The Islanders now need a win by the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight against the Habs along with and Islanders' win in New Jersey tomorrow in order to make the playoffs.
