In another do-or-die game for the Islanders, the Isles came up big again and kept their playoff dreams alive. The final score of the Isles' victory over Toronto was 5-2. Dubie was solid once again between the pipes and the Isles' key players stepped up big. The Isles' goals came from Smyth, Sillinger, Blake, Asham, and Satan on the empty net.
Now, the Isles continue on their quest to the post-season. It continues on Saturday when the Isles will have to take down the Flyers in the Philly. Should that happen, all eyes will shift to Toronto, where the Leafs will have to beat the Habs for the sake of the Islanders. Finally, the Isles will need to win in New Jersey on Sunday at 3:30. This taks, which may seem daunting, may be easier than usual because the Devils have just clinched the division. This may lead coach Lou to bench goaltender Marty Brodeur and some of the other star players on the team. No matter the outcome, it is going to be one awesome hockey weekend in the Eastern Conference.
We'll keep you updated on all of this with TWO EPISODES of Hockey Night on Long Island. Saturday at 3:30 and Sunday at 7 (times PM EST).
