Castleman's Disease Discussion  

Jim Johnston is the International Castleman's Disease Organization Executive Director. The International Castleman's Disease Organization (ICDO) is a patient advocacy forum designed for individuals who have been diagnosed with this rare disorder. Castleman's Disease (CD) is initially characterized by a benign single or multiple growths within the lymphatic tissue. It is normally found by scans in the neck, chest, abdomen or pelvis. This support group is intended to provide an interactive discussion for patients, families, and caregivers of Castleman's Disease.     Dr Tricot is the “Professor, Department of Medicine; Director, Utah Blood and Marrow Transplant and Myeloma Program," Huntsman Cancer Institute, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT. This interview will encompass the capability of Huntsman Cancer Institute to provide Castlemans Disease patients with a diagnosis and treatment plan for this rare disease. In addition to capabilities and treatment, Dr. Tricot will discuss clinical trials available at Huntsman and an overview of the relation between Multiple Myeloma and Castleman’s Disease. A specific definition of what is Castleman's, the risk factors involved and other related diseases to a Castleman’s will be reviewed.
