The Cross of Christ  

The Holy Spirit gave the Apostle Paul the principle of "spiritual adultery", which he deals with in the first four Verses of the Seventh Chapter of Romans which, God willing, I will address at a later date. However, Paul derived this concept from the Lord's dealings with His people in the Old Testament. The Bible says in 2Chron. 21:11, "Moreover he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit fornication, and compelled Judah [thereto]" and concerning Judah, Eze. 16:26,"Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger" and Eze. 16:29 "Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith."
