The Cross of Christ

"For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:18 and "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." 1 Cor. 1:23-24

Fight The Good Fight of Faith -03

Once the Christian has his Faith placed properly in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross, Satan will fold up his tent and move along never to bother us again. Right? Wrong! Actually Satan will do everything within his power now to move one's Faith to other things. Satan does not care where our Faith is placed, as long as it is not placed exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. It saddens me to say this but Satan uses preachers (how many? only God knows the answer to that) to move the Child of God's Faith to things other than Christ and the Cross. This is where the "fight" comes in. It is a "fight" in which we must engage every day. That is why our Lord Jesus said that we must "take up the Cross daily" if we are to follow Him (Lk. 9:23). Even though it is a "fight", it is a "good fight," simply because it is the right fight. How many Christians are fighting battles that our Saviour has already fought and won a long, long time ago? He did it for us because we could not in any way have won such a fight. We are trying to fight battles which have already been won, which we could not win even if we fought them.
