The Cross of Christ  

It is Faith alone which God recognizes. It must, however, be Faith in Christ and the Cross (1 Cor.1:17-18, 23; 2:2; Gal., Chpt.5; 6:14; Col. 2:14-15). Having Faith in the Cross of Christ is the same as having Faith in the Word of God. In fact, the two are the same. The Story of the Bible in its entirety is the story of "Jesus Christ and Him Crucified" (John 1:1,14,29). Inspired by the Holy Spirit, Paul told Timothy: "Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses." (1Tim. 6:12) Faith is the only fight that God tells Christians to engage in. Every attack by Satan against the Child of God, irrespective of its form, is to destroy or seriously weaken our Faith. Satan's goal is to change our focus from the Cross to other things. Paul tells Timothy to "lay hold on Eternal Life". This we do by understanding that all Life comes from Christ, and the Means is the Cross.
