The Cross of Christ

"For the preaching of the Cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God." 1 Cor. 1:18 and "But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God." 1 Cor. 1:23-24

Fight The Good Fight of Faith -01

My seven previous blog entries have contained, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, much about faith. It is all about faith, brothers and sisters in Christ; it is never a question of works. Works are, of course, important, but works must be the result of our faith and never the cause. I can write about faith every day and still fail God and fail you, the reader, if I do not properly address the all important subject of the OBJECT of one's faith. Works are important in their own way, but they do not actually please God. In Hbr 11:6, Paul (it is my belief that Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit wrote Hebrews) states "But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and [that] he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Faith in what? in whom? Faith in Christ and the Cross; any time Faith is mentioned, without exception, its root meaning is that its OBJECT is Christ and the Cross; otherwise, it is faith that God will not accept. Faith in anything other than Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross greatly displeases the Lord.
