The Digital Age  in music has certainly undergone a  paradigm shift of once dominated by The Music Industry Big Wigs, now has given way to  Independents  Labels. Once upon a time The Big Four labels (Major Record Labels) controlled majority of the music sold, making up to the extent 75% of the music market. Artists who got record deals  to label were either signed to the Big label or signed to a subsidiary one the downside most of the revenue belong to the labels.

The upside for the Independent Labels  they now have possession of the ball and are in position to play the full court. However, the road to success is not necessarily easy street for the Independent, in fact, it could be quite a challenging one.  Nevertheless, the ball is in  their own control.  They can decide their own destiny. For those who are up to the challenge  here are just  a few questions that they need ask themselves before diving in feet first: Are you set up to do business? Who Are you making music for?
