From as early as the 1970's til present times the Hip Hop commmunity has had an influence on fashion, Trends, dances,  equipment, software, video games and etc.  Starting back in York City,  Morris Heights, Bronx, with  DJ Afrika Bambaataa who outlined the four pillars of hip hop culture: MCing, DJing, breaking and graffiti writing. which eventually lead to sampling scratching, Human beatboxing. Bam also encouraged a detourant to gang violence. 
 
Hip hop has also lend it hand to young African Americans a voice to let their issues be heard; "Like rock-and-roll, hip hop is vigorously opposed by conservatives because the feel that it glorifies violence, law-breaking, and gangs". Unfortunately , we are not recognized generally for the positve attribution to society It has give the yout to rise from poverty to wealth and given many a chance for financial gain to reach consumers.
