Sherimane Johnson is Owner and SweetsMaker of NaturallySweet Desserts, where she creates delicious vegan and low-glycemic pastries. After learning she had diabetes, several years ago, and several family members being inflicted by the disease, Sherimane went on the search for healthy baking options. Unable to find delicious and healthy desserts, she decided to create her own.  That was in 2010 and her business has been growing ever since. Many of Sherimane's customers shared their challenges with allergies to dairy, leading to her discovery that a plant-based diet improved health. As a result, she changed her recipes to vegan and started living a vegan lifestyle. Sherimane no longer takes medicine  for diabetes; it's controlled by diet and exercise.

Sherimane is also a survivor...having overcome a lifetime of sexual, physical and mental abuse! After healing herself, her mission is now to empower others to make better decisions in the food they eat and reduce their dependence on traditional medicine. She believe fruits, vegetables and herbs have healing properties. When we gain more knowledge about the healthy benefits of a plant-based diet, we can break the cycle of our bodies being used for experimentation by pharmaceutical companies. Lastly, due to her history of abuse, baking is Sherimane's form of social protest. Enlightening others and helping them take back their power is the main goal of her business, which she does delicious desserts!  She's been told she has magic hands...a form of Sweet Alchemy.
