  Rocky Mountain High
  

  Eight-thousand feet on the side of a mountain surrounded by Ponderosa pines and aspen trees.  Five-thousand feet more above me sits the summit and the anticipation is building as night falls.  There a few more people camped about two-hundred yards away and while sleeping...visions of black bears run through my head like a bad horror flick.  A one-man tent with walls only inches from my folded arms and I await the huffing air from the wandering nose of the approaching bear to burst against the extremely thin tent fabric.
  
  I find myself awake at early light and luckily not mauled, but I will tell you that night's sleep was not easy and definitely not deep.  But all I could think of was getting on the trail and getting one foot in front of the other towards the summit...
