Thank you for tuning in to a Sunday Show - Annex on Saturday.   We interviewd local political aspirant Ryan Hartman 2 wks ago.  He's running a campaign to win a city commission seat in the small FL town of Lake Worth.  Key issues in the race include infrasture problems, city funding and expenditures, (the fear of) over development of public properties and beaches, utilities expenses for residents (to name but a few) ... and there is this ongoing problem with POTHOLES scattered across many city streets that engage and challenge your navigation.  3 seats are up for election filled by incumbents who are campaigning to keep their seats.  So, politics being American, and microcosm reflecting (somewhat) macrocosm, the character assassination, slants, inaccuracies and self service are pounding the community at this point.

This is my hometown (Gwendolyn H. Barry) and as far as I can tell, it's become a (political) cityscape of fear and loathing.  A shame because I have an instinct that all invovled are likely good people doing difficult jobs.  Especially the new candidates.  In that observation, I would poll this race for the incumbents (who includes the mayor).  However; Ryan is a young man who has faced some particularly nasty character assassination for his activist positions and for posts in social media about local law enforcement.  Today we are going to ask Ryan about the accusations he faces and how he is dealing with them in the hot mess of an election mirroring an even larger one on the national scene.  Please join us.
