Choosing the words you speak can elevate an situation or bring it crashing down real quickly.

Effective sales people make it a point to master the use of words and purposefully use to to promote themselves.

Take any product, be it a book, a chair, or a toy. Look at how the product is promoted. Are powerful words used? You better believe it!! 99 percent of the time, you will find that positive word power are used to build up an image.

Those images creates emotions which then move the one listen into action.

Whether within our own thoughts, spoken or written, words have the power to transform the world we live in.

Love, laughter, fear, anger and virtually every emotion we feel as human beings can be inspired or invoked by words.

There are some words that are hardly noticed and others that stand out. Knowing how and when to use these words can give you an advantage in the direction of conversations.

Take a basic need and find words which trigger the need within the person you are talking with. For example, you can use:

    * Safety-oriented words: guaranteed, safe, secure, sound, healthy, strong.
    * Greed-oriented words: cash, deserve, money, more, free.
    * Control-oriented words: easy, quick, discover, proven, best, grab.
    * Belonging/Identity-oriented words: you, love, good, approved, favorite, new.
    * Trust-oriented words: certain, good, proven, real, right, scientific, sure, truth.

Notice how these are all positive words, as they aim to invoke good feelings.

You can also leverage negative emotions to scare people into action.

The power effect of the words you use depend on the context within which you use them. 'Profit' is very likely to be a good word in most companies, yet in the nonprofit sector it may very well be a negative word.

Craft your speech with care and you will be on your way to becoming a persuasive communicator!
