Parenting is hard work. All parents have times when they get angry or frustrated. But don't take out your feelings on your child. If you are worried that you might hurt your child.

Before having children, most people may picture a family with two parents. However, for many people, the reality is that they are the only parent. Although raising a child as a single parent can be challenging, it can also be rewarding. If we don't talk about the reality of motherhood, especially single motherhood, then women can't make informed decisions about whether to have children or not. If we don't make it known that most happiness studies say that mothers are no happier than childless women – sometimes quite the reverse – then women without children will always unnecessarily feel bereft. So here's the truth: it is relentless, worrying, emotionally-draining work. It is like a grey day with intermittent bursts of sunshine, and these occasional breaks in the cloud are what we mothers try to focus on. Single mothers can often feel isolated and overwhelmed, so it's important to feel that you have some sort of community behind you.

Instead of picking up the phone on your ex and getting out all your frustrations on him, as this just messes with his mind to, focus on yourself. I know sometimes this may make you feel like a selfish bitch, but believe me selfish is good sometimes.

When you find yourself gaining your strength, keep hold of this and keep reminding yourself of you at your strong points. Because in everyone's day we get weak. AT these WEAK moments its important to firstly be able to recognise when its a WEAK moment and what to and what not to do when this happens.
